The 1924 “Third Annual of Advertising Art,” published by the Art Directors Club of New York, contains a Frank Godwin illustration . . .

The book named in the title to this post has (on page 92) a small reproduction of a Frank Godwin illustration drawn for an advertisement of the Equitable Trust Company.  A very small reproduction of the entire advertisement appears on page 156.

Is the book worth looking for, if your only interest is in Frank Godwin?  For most people, the answer to this question would probably be “no.”  But the book also includes hundreds of fine illustrations by other artists, and it is a beautiful book.

On eBay now is a copy of the book — in dust jacket — for $65 plus shipping.  Editions for other years are also listed on eBay —  but whether they have anything in them by Frank Godwin, I do not know.
